Dental Bridges
in
Murrells Inlet,
South Carolina

Restore your smile. Eat, speak, and laugh with confidence again.

A gap in your smile can be more than just inconvenient. Over time, missing teeth can cause surrounding teeth to shift, change how you bite and chew, and even impact your facial structure. A dental bridge can help fix that.

At Carolina Dental Center, we’ve helped patients in Murrells Inlet and across the Grand Strand restore their smiles with natural-looking, long-lasting bridges since 1998.

The office is conveniently located just off US 17 in Murrells Inlet, SC. It is always so clean. The office staff are so friendly and helpful. Cheryl meets me in the waiting room right at my appointment time.

FAQs Around Dental Bridges

01

How much do Dental Bridges Usually Cost?

Pricing can vary, but here’s what you should know:

  • A typical 3-unit dental bridge (to replace one missing tooth) costs $2,000–$5,000, depending on materials used and complexity.

  • Insurance may cover a portion of the cost — we’ll help you verify your benefits.

  • Flexible payment options are available for those without insurance.

02

Is a bridge cheaper than implants?

Yes. Dental bridges are often slightly more affordable than implants, especially when replacing 1–2 teeth. However, the right solution depends on your unique case.

03

What Is the Downside of a Dental Bridge?

Dental bridges are a proven and effective solution — but they’re not perfect for everyone. Here’s what to consider:

  • To place a bridge, we may need to reshape healthy adjacent teeth for support.

  • Decay under a bridge can occur if oral hygiene isn’t maintained.

  • Bridges don’t last forever. You’ll likely need a replacement after several years.

However, when done by an experienced dentist (like Dr. Hojnowski), and paired with proper care, bridges are a reliable solution that can last 10+ years.

04

Why Don’t Some Dentists Recommend Bridges?

Some dentists may favor implants over bridges — and in some cases, that’s appropriate. But not everyone is a candidate for implants.

At Carolina Dental Center, we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all dentistry. We consider:

  • Your bone health and gum condition

  • Your budget and insurance

  • Your long-term dental goals

Dr. Hojnowski personally evaluates every patient to determine the best solution — no guesswork, no pressure.

Sometimes, a bridge is the smarter, faster, and more affordable option.

05

How Long Does a Dental Bridge Last?

Dental bridges typically last 5 to 15 years, and often longer with excellent care.

  • Proper brushing and flossing

  • Regular dental checkups

  • Avoiding overly hard or sticky foods

Our patients routinely tell us their bridges still feel and function like natural teeth years later.

06

Can you eat normally with a dental bridge?

Yes — most patients adjust quickly. You’ll be biting into apples and enjoying steak in no time.

07

Is a dental bridge better than implants?

It depends. Bridges are faster and cheaper. Implants can last longer. We'll help you decide.

08

Does a bridge look natural?

Absolutely. We use high-quality materials that match your natural teeth in color and shape.

Dental Crowns

A tooth shaped cap that restores a decayed, broken, weak, or worn down tooth. The dentist also uses crowns to cover dental implants and root canal treated teeth, improve cosmetics, or for full mouth reconstruction cases to open a collapsed bite.

implant.png

Dental implants are medical devices surgically implanted into the jaw to replace a missing tooth and restore a patient's ability to chew and their esthetics. Implants can also provide support or retention for artificial teeth such as crowns, bridges, or dentures.

dentures.png

Dentures are a replacement for teeth that have been lost, whether it be a complete arch or a partial arch. Complete dentures cover your entire upper or lower jaw. Partial dentures replace one or multiple teeth where there are still retained teeth on that same arch.

bridge.png

Bridges

A dental prosthesis that is cemented or bonded to natural teeth to replace a missing tooth or teeth. A fixed bridge can also be cemented onto dental implants. Each bridge contains abutments or retainers which are the part that supports or retains the prosthesis, and a pontic that replaces the missing tooth.

Snoring Treatment

We utilize a custom fit dental appliance specifically designed to treat snoring by slightly advancing your lower jaw to open the airway while you sleep. This appliance consists of upper and lower trays to be worn only while sleeping, and also mitigates bruxism (clenching and grinding).

Cleanings

A dental cleaning is a procedure performed by the hygienist to thoroughly clean your teeth to maintain healthy gums, reduce the accumulation of harmful bacteria as dental plaque, and prevent gingivitis and periodontal disease. Cleanings are recommended every 6 months.

Teeth Whitening

Custom trays are made to fit intimately to your upper and lower teeth to be worn at home with dental bleaching gel in order to achieve a brighter, whiter smile.

extraction.png

Extractions

Extractions are the removal of non-restorable teeth. If a patient elects to replace a tooth with an implant in the future, we prepare the extraction site with bone grafting to preserve the height and width of the ridge in the extraction site.

Peridontal Therapy

for Gum Disease

This is a type of non-surgical treatment for gum disease (periodontitis) with the goal to control and manage periodontal disease without the need for surgery. This procedure, also known as scaling and root planing, helps to restore optimal gum health and prevent tooth loss.

root canal.png

Root Canal

A root canal is treatment to remove the nerve and blood supply of an infected or badly decayed/damaged tooth. Root canals allow us to save some teeth instead of extracting them.
