Restorative Dentistry at Carolina Dental Center
Reclaiming the Function and Strength of Your Smile
At Carolina Dental Center, we believe that a healthy smile is the foundation of your overall well-being. Whether you are dealing with a small cavity, a chipped tooth, or multiple missing teeth, Restorative Dentistry is the branch of dental care dedicated to repairing damage and returning your mouth to full functionality.
Led by Dr. Kevin Hojnowski, our team focuses on comprehensive care that doesn't just "fix" a tooth but restores your quality of life.
What is Restorative Dentistry?
Restorative dentistry involves the diagnosis and treatment of oral conditions that affect the structure of your teeth.
Unlike purely cosmetic procedures, restorative work is medically necessary to prevent further decay, bone loss, or misalignment.
Our goal is to make your restored teeth look, feel, and function exactly like your natural ones.
We offer a full spectrum of restorative solutions tailored to your specific needs:

-
Dental Fillings: The most common "Basic" restoration used to treat cavities and minor chips.
-
Same-Day Crowns: Custom-fit caps that protect and strengthen weakened or broken teeth.
-
Dental Bridges: A reliable way to "bridge" the gap left by one or more missing teeth.
-
Dental Implants: The gold standard for tooth replacement, providing a permanent, bone-fused foundation.
-
Complete & Partial Dentures: Removable options to restore your ability to eat and smile with confidence.
-
Root Canal Therapy: A vital procedure to save a severely decayed or infected tooth from extraction.

-
Gentle Care: His philosophy is rooted in treating every patient with respect, compassion, and honesty, ensuring your comfort during even the most complex "Major" restorative procedures.
We understand that the cost of dental work is a major consideration.

-
Basic Restorative Care: Usually includes fillings and simple extractions. Most insurance plans cover these at a higher percentage.
-
Major Restorative Care: Includes crowns, bridges, and implants. While these have a higher initial cost, they are a long-term investment in your health, preventing more expensive bone loss and shifting later.

Our office works with various insurance providers and offers transparent pricing to help you get the care you need without the stress.
Understanding Insurance & Your Investment
An All Too Common Story
A patient that comes to the office routinely every 6 months for a cleaning, exam, and annual bitewing xrays showed up at a scheduled hygiene appointment with decay on the root surface of a tooth.
This decay was not present on previous xrays or at their last hygiene visit with an exam. In between 6-month cleaning appointments, the patient had a change in their medications that led to dry mouth.
In a little as a couple of months, a cavity started and progressed to the point where the tooth could not be saved anymore, and the patient needed to have it extracted.
This is why it is so important to stay regular with cleanings, exams, and xrays, as well as making sure homecare routines are excellent!
Talk with your dentist when there are changes in medications, dry mouth, or other symptoms of a change in your mouth. The goal is always to intervene with the most conservative treatment necessary to restore teeth to health and function.
Don't let dental pain or missing teeth hold you back from the life you love.
Whether you're heading to the beach or cheering on your favorite sports team, you deserve a smile that works for you.
